Everyone working in primary care needs confidence in recommending and demonstrating digital resources and technologies to patients.
Innovex worked with Academia, Health Education England, NHSX, NHS England to understand workforce education needs to support patients in the uptake and implementation of remote technologies.
The main issues that the public, NHSX/NHSEI, Health Education England, integrated care system and clinical and social care staff told us about were their concern with safety, inclusion, variability of support, and integration into existing practice workflows. The aim of our work was to increase the understanding of barriers to digital self-monitoring among healthcare professionals. Education in remote technologies enables the workforce to give suggestions for ways to support patients as part of the long-term condition review.
To make the education useful and pragmatic we co-produced various materials including educational animation video with and for the public, as well as staff education modules with and for staff.
